9"x11" Bristol, watercolor pencil wash, colored pencil. Clear topcoat on eyes for shine.
Yes. I hate the BG. It was an attempt to darken the original watercolor bg that I couldn't do more watercolor over. BAD idea. Prismas did NOT blend like I wanted. Horrid.
Rushed it a bit.
First try at crap like this. Hope he likes.

First thing first, this is an excellent job at very real fur texture. I can't repeat that enough. And the eyes hold that "caught in the Flash" look to them. And though the background could have been better, I think anybody that focuses enough on that to complain... needs medication in heavy doses.

The best part of this picture, in my opinion, is the muzzle and the ears. I like the muzzle because of all the colors I can see in it. I see brown, black, blue, umber, and even a bit of violet. I like the ears because of the same reason. One critique, that I think I already told you when I saw you working on it: needs more contrasts. The background isn't bad, I think you should do backgrounds for your next pieces, just do them first. And then throw some other colors into the shading in the picture. Makes for a very interesting picture. Love how this turned out. The eyes sound really awesome. The puppy ish so fluffeh!

Oooo, Sabs this is very beautiful. I love the fur detail, and the anatomy of the head is VERY good o.o Such a soft expression :} I :heart: it.

nice, everything about this image is quite lovely, I love the eye shine, and the ears and sides of the face/muzzle for the clear color detail/fur. Very beautiful. Im sure the person will love it.

Very beautiful way of shading the fur, i like the EYES :crazy: those caught in a headlight eyes. very amazing work over-all
